I bought my Marshall 1959 RI full stack about ten years ago and hated it. It was shrill and as someone else said, stupidly loud. A Metro board, Sozo Premium caps and NOS tubes fixed the ice pickiness. But it was still to loud to play anywhere I gig at. Then I installed the Power Scaling kit. Now I can get 99% of every tone from every album I've ever heard. From Allman Bros to ZZ Top. And do it all at regular volume levels. It does change the tone. It makes it sound like your diming it without making your pants legs wave. It turned a turd of an amp into the best amp I've ever even played through.
